4 Mombasa Mosques To Be Reopened Today
This report was confirmed by Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho who was accompanied by Mvita Member of Parliament Abdul-Swamad Nasir and Muslim religious leaders among them supkem national chair Abdul-Gafur, Ali-Busaidy.
The leaders said the decision was reached after a week-long consultative meeting with the community and government agencies.
Musa, Swafaa, Mina and Sakina Mosques were closed a week ago by police after a raid in the mosques netted grenades, petrol bombs, radicalization materials, and other paraphernalia.
The mosques had been closed down for allegedly holding radicalization training with terrorism elements.
