4 People Killed After Quarry Collapses

The four were among eight other people who were mining soil from the quarry.

Four others escaped with injuries after they were rescued by the area residents.

Area MP Kubai Kiringo faulted the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for negligence, claiming that some quarries in the area are too deep and risky.

Kiringo said that NEMA had failed to caution the residents from continuing operations at the quarries.
