4 suspected gangsters gunned down

Police today, saturday,  gunned down four suspected robbers as they allegedly attempted to break into the home of former Cabinet Minister Musikari Kombo in Loresho, Nairobi.

A fifth suspect who was in a waiting car reportedly sped off as police approached the scene in the midday incident.

Police say they recovered two pistols with 10 bullets from the men.

Officers say the gang has been behind a series of such attacks in the area in which people have lost household goods.

It was not clear if the family of the former minister, who is the current Chairman of the Kenya Petroleum Refinery was at home, but police say a neighbour had raised the alarm when the robbers tried to enter the palatial home.
