40 Suspects Arrested In Nyahururu

The operation led by Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo and DCIO Isaack Onyango was carried out by a joint team of officers from regular and Administration Police .

According to the OCPD, several suspects were found extorting money from matatu operators, four others were found in possession of several rolls of bhang while others lacked Identification documents.

Others were arrested for roaming in the town with suspicious intentions.

The OCPD said the suspects are now being held at Nyahururu, Ol-Jororok and Maili Inne police stations and and are set to be charged in court on Monday with various offences.

Onsongo said the operation was an on-going exercise that will also ensure that the area is free from illegal aliens and criminals who terrorize innocent residents.

He called on residents to join the security agents in fighting crime and in identifying suspicious characters living among them.
