41% of public schools risk losing land to grabbers

Lands Cabinet Secretary, Prof Jacob Kaimenyi, on Thursday, May 12 issued title deeds to 200 public schools in Uasin Gishu County.

Speaking at Moi Girls High School, Eldoret during the event, the CS noted that 41% of schools are at risk of losing their lands due to inappropriate paperwork with some staring at a possible land grabbing menace.

He cautioned schools against running on surveyed land without lease certificates.

“41% of our schools are at risk of losing their lands due to graft,” warned the CS.

“We will identify the men and women involved in this and tell them it will never happen again,” he added.
