44 Female Students Suspended For Keeping Long Hair

44 female students have been suspended from St Marks Odambo Secondary School in Kisumu County for failing to comply with a new rule which requires all female students to shave their hair. According to the school’s board of governors, it is the students keeping long hair that is to blame for the dismal performance in their examinations. While the rest of the students have complied, the 44 see no relation between long hair and results, opting to defy the order.
