45-year-old man killed by falling tree in Kirinyaga

A man died after a tree fell on him on Saturday at Kara-ini village in Kirinyaga County.

According to the family of the deceased, Julius Wachira Munge, 45, had gone to help three men to cut down the tree when it fell on him.

“There were three people cutting down this tree, the deceased came and asked to help them because there are houses on both sides of the tree, so the aim was to try and avoid hitting the houses.

“In the process of pulling the tree he got stuck and that is when it fell on him,” said James Njogu a cousin to the deceased.

The incident was reported at Kabonge Police Station.
