Kiambere primary school head teacher Lincon Njuki suspects that the expectant young mothers could have been impregnated by their fellow students
Speaking at the institution when 430 candidates from 23 schools in the area received examination material and foodstuff from Nairobi Visionary Group, Njuki appealed to the parents to ensure that the girls sat the exams.
The headteacher said that parents of the expectant girls have been contacted to ensure that the candidates are presented to sit their examinations
He added that the most affected area is Ntharawe
Businessman Lenny Masters Mwaniki who presented the donation said many students were constantly skipping school due to the biting famine situation and called on the County government to introduce school feeding programme.
He said the problem could be a major contributor to the declining education standards in the area.
