5 People Die In Separate Road Accidents

Bureti traffic base commander Moris Sifuma said the accident happened when the lorry heading to Kericho lost control and swerved before ramming into a motocycle.

The motorcycle was ferrying four passengers including a chief.

Elsewhere, one person died and two others were seriously injured in an accident at Karure area along Naivasha –Kamwangi –Thika road, in Gatundu north, Kiambu County.

The accident occurred after a lorry transporting more than 100 bags of maize from Kitare to Thika hit a wall in a sharp corner.

Eye witnesses say the crash occured at around 6PM.

The witnesses say the lorry driver was speeding.

His co-driver died on the spot, while a woman passenger broke her arm.

The driver is nursing head injuries.

The injured were taken to Igegania hospital in Gatundu.
