5 people killed in grisly Kangundo Road accident

Five people early were killed in a grisly road accident on Kangundo Road in Nairobi early Wednesday morning.

The accident which involved three vehicles occurred at Kamulu area which is known to be a blackspot.

Several other people are reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Reports indicate that a Probox rammed into a bus belonging to KBS which in turn hit a pickup truck.

It is alleged that the Probox was attempting to overtake at the black spot.

Nairobi County police boss Philip Ndolo said those injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police are investigating the accident to establish what happened.

The five bodies have been taken to City Mortuary.

Four months ago, 8 soldiers from the Kenya Defense Forces after a truck they were traveling in veered off the Kangundo Road.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle that had 18 soldiers onboard.

And in March, one person was killed on the spot and another succumbed to his injuries following an accident on the Nairobi- Kangundo Road.

A lorry is said to have hit a matatu on the side causing it to veer off the road and roll several times.

In 2017, two other people died after a motorcycle collided with a 14-seater matatu in the same area.
