5 people killed in Mt Elgon

A 10 month old baby is among 5 family members killed in cold blood in Kapsika village in Mt. Elgon, Bungoma County in what the county commissioner, Muhammed Maalim says is a case of a land dispute between family members.

Four children and their father were shot dead in their home, their mother and 3 other children survived by playing dead and lying in the pool of blood.

The youngest a 10 month old baby was felled by the attackers’ gun and so were his siblings aged 1, 4 and 13 years.

The man of the family Stephen Wafula was the first to be shot.

All evidence seems to be pointing to a land dispute.

Kenyan authorities are now working with their Ugandan counterparts as the search for more suspects and weapons used is intensified.

9 people have been arrested, among them a pastor.
