Five hundred elderly members of the Asian community on Saturday received the COVID-19 jab at an exercise held at Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj School in Nairobi West.

The exercise which was witnessed by COVID-19 fund board member Narendra Raval and Secretary Kennedy Kihara targeted those who are 58 years and above.

The community lauded the government’s efforts in safeguarding the nation and promised to continue supporting initiatives that aim at helping the country deal with the pandemic.

“The government is doing everything possible to secure and safeguard all communities of our country. We’re part and parcel of this country…government alone cannot do anything, you and I have to be part of it,” said Raval.

Mr. Kihara, on his part, said: “I know how much you did in the initial wave of COVID-19…we’ll see this program through until the end. And if there are many others who are left out, we’ll still make arrangements for them.
