60-year-old man burns his entire home before killing self in Baringo North

Grief has hit Koiserat village in Baringo North after a 60-year-old man burnt down his entire homestead on Monday evening.

Shortly after, he committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree within the same compound.

According to his neighbours, the man had joked about killing himself on several occasions.

The matter went out of hand when he walked about his home, locking all doors and kindling a fire which he used to burn the homestead down.

His helpless neighbours watched the drama from afar as the irate man was wielding a sharp panga which he brandished at those who attempted to put out the fire.

It was not immediately clear what led the man to his death.
