60-year-old woman, nephew found hacked to death in Siaya

Police in Siaya County have launched investigations into an incident where a 60-year-old woman and her 13-year-old nephew were found murdered at Umala village in Alego/Usonga sub-county on Saturday night.

The bodies of Pamela Adhiambo Ogola and the minor were found in a pool of blood at the former’s home after they were brutally hacked to death by unknown people at around 8p.m.

According to East Alego location Chief Jared Makana, the woman’s neighbors heard her screaming and rushed to her compound only to find they had already been killed.

Mr. Makana added that police were called who then took the bodies to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem as investigations begin.

The administrator also revealed that the murders come a few years after an incident where a house belonging to the 60-year-old woman was mysteriously burnt down by unknown people, forcing her to move to a new home where she was murdered.
