66-year-old woman killed, body dumped outside her house in Embu

The body of a 66-year-old woman was on Monday found dumped outside her house in Macumo Village in Embu East Sub-county.

The mutilated body of the woman was discovered in the morning with its neck slit and appearing like she was raped before being murdered.

Confirming the incident, Embu East Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner George Omollo said the area assistant chief reported the matter after he was informed of the discovery by the woman’s relatives.

The deputy county commissioner said police visited the scene, adding that investigations into the matter are underway. He pointed out that the woman was last seen in her house early on Sunday evening.

He said the body was taken to Runyenjes Level Four Hospital mortuary, further calling upon the residents to volunteer information that could led to the arrest of the culprits.
