7 Bodies Retrieved At River Nzioa

The bodies of two other victims still missing.

The bodies were found and retrieved by fishermen at Sango on the boundary between river Nzoia and Lake Victoria.

The bodies have been taken to the port Victoria sub district mortuary.

A boat ferrying passengers capsized in the river leading to the death of the passengers.

Locals say the overloaded boat had left Port Victoria in Busia County and was heading to Mau Mau beach when it capsized in Budalang'i.

Rescuers have heightened the search of missing bodies following the Saturday's accident between Port Victoria and Mau Mau.

Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong led the County team in providing the rescue team and families of the dead and survivors with aid.

Ojaamong said Busia county together with the national government will construct a bridge across River Nzoia in Budalang’i sub-county.

The governor however warned boat owners against overloading asking them to be mindful of people's safety.
