Seven former Nairobi County Government officials accused of conspiracy to steal millions of shillings have been released on personal bond of Ksh.5 million and surety of Ksh.3 million each.

The accused are Lilian Wanjiru Ndegwa (former Nairobi County Secretary), Jimmy Kiamba (Former Chief Finance officer), Gregory Mwakanongo, Stephen Osiro, Luke Gatimu, John Njogu and Grace Githua.

The seven, who were charged alongside former county boss Evans Kidero with conspiracy to commit fraud leading to the loss of Ksh.213 million from Nairobi City County, were not given an option of cash bail.

Kidero and Maurice Ochieng Okere, the Acting Head of County Treasury were on Thursday evening granted bail after denying three counts of fraud before the Anti Corruption Court.

They denied the charges and were released on a Ksh.2 million cash bail, personal bond of Ksh.5 million with an additional bond of Ksh.3 million.
