7 people killed, 7 injured in Kwale accident

Seven people were killed, and 7 others were injured in a tragic road accident at Bonje area near Mariakani, on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

It is reported 5 died on the spot and two others died on arrival at the Mariakani District Hospital.

Mariakani Deputy OCPD Patrice Ndeiywa confirmed the incident saying the accident occurred when a matatu heading to Mariakani from Mombasa collided head on with a truck which was coming from the opposite direction.

Ndeiywa also confirmed that, three of the injured are in critical condition, and have been transferred to Coast General hospital.

Four people are receiving treatment at Mariakani District Hospital.
