70 Killed As Boat Capsizes In Yemen

Security officials said that the boat sank off Al-Makha port due to the strong winds and rough waves that were there on Saturday.

International Media reports say that the boat was used by smugglers to transport the illegal migrants.

This tragedy comes barely months after another one that occurred in March that drowned at least 42 illegal African migrants.

Tens of thousands attempt to cross the Red Sea into Yemen every year often in overcrowded vessels.

Hundreds have died in the process.

Yemen is viewed by many migrants as a gateway to the Middle East or Europe.
