70-year old granny dies after testimony in Church

Residents of Butere town have been left in shock after a 70-year-old woman collapsed and died after giving a testimony at a Christmas church service held at the Emakale Church of God on December 25, 2016.

According to Eshitaari Area Chief Peter Maumo, the deceased, identified as Selina Ayako, is said to have been ailing from high blood pressure which may have been the cause of her death.

Ms Ayako had reportedly just finished giving a testimony during the service when she suddenly collapsed.

The body of the deceased has since been taken to the mortuary at St Mary’s Mumias Hospital awaiting post-mortem.

Elsewhere, a 2-year-old boy died after he fell from the second floor of a building in Ekero location in Kakamega county, sunday evening.

According to Area Chief Suleiman Mulisia, Amri Abdi, was playing with his friends before he slipped and fell off the building.

“That building is not constructed well so it is unsafe for anyone hanging around there,” he said.

Mulisia called upon the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to look into the matter to avoid such incidences from occurring, urging residents to exercise caution when hanging around the building.
