77-year-old woman electrocuted to death in Siaya
A 77-year-old woman was on Monday electrocuted to death following a power surge at Liganwa village in Alego Usonga.
According to the woman’s son, Junior Oluoch, it had been raining heavily on Monday night when his mother was allegedly struck by electric shock in her house.
The son said there had been an on-and-off of the electricity resulting to a power surge before his mother was struck to death.
Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal confirmed the incident saying technicians from Kenya Power were investigating what transpired.
The woman’s body was taken to BAMA Hospital mortuary in Siaya town.
