79-year-old man arrested in Kakamega for defiling a 13-year-old girl

A 79-year-old man was on Friday arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers after he was caught pants down with a minor at a tea farm in Liyenga village, Kakamega

Andrea Esani, the suspect, was ambushed by a security officer from Itenyi Secondary School who pounced on strewn school uniform on his way home from work.

Curious, the security guard entered the farm and discovered a 13-year-old girl trying to free herself from the predator’s jaws.

He raised alarm, alerting residents who rushed to the scene.

It took the help of the area assistant chief, who alerted local police, who swooped in to rescue the elderly man from the angry crowd.

The minor received treatment and was released from a local health center after the incident.

The suspect will be arraigned in court on Monday.

Meanwhile, detectives have arrested Richard Nyonga Kufwa in connection with a rape case registered by a school teacher in Machakos County.

According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, the suspect was hired to transport the 24-year-old teacher on a series of errands that lasted until late at in the evening

The perpetrator took a detour at the Misuuni feeder road and pulled the victim to the roadside where he committed the heinous act, according to the police report.

Several residents were heading to their homes when they heard the lady’s distress calls, but the perpetrator was able to flee.

Detectives were who alerted to the matter launched a night-time manhunt for Nyonga, nabbing him at his hiding place in the afternoon of Friday.

He will be arraigned in court on Monday.
