9 killed, 20 injured after bus bursts into flames

Nine people have been confirmed dead and 20 others injured after a bus burst into flame at Civicon near Emali on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

Reports indicate that the accident occurred after the bus heading towards Mombasa collided head-on with a lorry.

While  confirming the incident, Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim said that the injured were rushed to Kilome Nursing Home.

Police are investigating the circumstances under which the accident happened.
