Man commits suicide after a phone call in Bomet

A sombre mood has engulfed Nyaururu village in Bomet county after a man committed suicide.

The 31-year-old man is said to have had a quarrel with his wife which led him to hang himself.

According to area Chief Stanley Towett, the body was found dangling from the roof inside the house where he lived alone.

Reports indicate that the couple frequently quarreled in the past which led the woman to seek refuge elsewhere on Christmas eve. She left with the children.

On the fateful day, the man is said to have had a long conversation with the estranged wife.

It is however not yet clear what the two discussed on phone.

Neighbors found his body on Tuesday and called the police who then took the body to Longisa County mortuary.

His wife on learning about the incident is said to have fainted and been rushed to Longisa Hospital where she is reported to be in stable condition.
