A university student stabbed to death in Nyeri
Kimathi University students awoke to a horrid scene after one student was stabbed to death by his by his colleague following a bitter quarrel.
The attacker pounced on his fellow student and stabbed him severally in the neck using a knife. When bystanders tried to intervene, they were injured by the livid student.
Confirming the incident, Nyeri police boss Charles Rotich has said the stabbed man died as he was being rushed to Mary Immaculate hospital in Mwega for treatment.
The suspect is being held at Nyeri police station and will be arraigned in court on Monday.
The body of the deceased was taken to the hospital’s mortuary for a postmortem examination.
This is not the first time that a violent incident has been reported in the area. Two months ago, a middle-aged man had his private parts chopped off.
The university has been called to upon to cooperate with the police in ensuring the security of not only the students but also the residents.
