Afraha prayer meeting a mockery of PEV victim – CORD

The opposition Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has blasted Jubilee’s Afraha Stadium prayer rally saying it mocked the fate of 2007/08 Post Election Violence victims.

CORD claims that instead of uniting the country, the celebrations undermined the agony and struggles of the victims. The CORD brigade, without their principals, fired salvo criticizing the Afraha prayer gathering.

“Those preachers are the modern day Pharisees, how comes they have never held prayers for victims before,” stated Siaya Senator James Orengo.

“Uhuru and Ruto never lost anything during the violence,” stated Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.

“What are they celebrating when people are suffering?” posed Suba MP John Mbadi.

Equally staging prayers for the victims, CORD, nonetheless, went for the President and his deputy’s jugular claiming the unity they preached was a mirage if truth and reconciliation on ICC is not told.

CORD claims the bungled 2007 General Elections precipitated the bloodshed and to move the country forward, a credible electoral agency whose image is beyond disrepute is key for stability of the nation.

The meeting was skipped by all CORD principals who were out of the country, Raila Odinga is in England, Kalonzo Musyoka in Portugal but Ford Kenya leadership gave the function a wide berth instead choosing to address the same issues from Trans Nzoia.

CORD wants the TJRC report implemented in full and the Waki enveloped opened to make full disclosure of those names contained in the Waki list.
