Africa Youth Trust launches campaign to educate youth on BBI report gains

The Africa Youth Trust has launched a nationwide campaign to engage the youth on the contents and gains of the recently unveiled Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.

The campaign dubbed Youth BBI Report Engagement Initiative will involve nationwide civic engagement forums to help the youth understand the contents of the BBI report.

“The ultimate aim of the Youth BBI Report Engagement Initiative is to ensure that all the youth in the country Access, Understand and Engage on the contents of the gains proposed therein for purposes of making an informed decision on the document,” said Ruth Ambogo, the governance manager at Africa Youth Trust.

She further invited all stakeholders to join the initiative, adding that the campaign seeks to “unpack the gains to the youth as contained in the report, as well as simplifying the same to target groups within the youth fraternity.”

The campaign will make use of various forms of media including but not limited to social media, Facebook Live Discussions, mainstream media as well as town hall forums involving the wider society.

During collection of the public views by the BBI taskforce, Africa Youth Trust provided technical support to youth networks and formations drawn from across the country who ultimately presented a unified proposal to the taskforce at KICC on August 7th 2019.
