The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will hold its 36th Ordinary Session from 9 to 27 March 2015 at its seat in Arusha, Tanzania.

The Judges, among others, will consider and adopt the reports of the previous two Ordinary Sessions and deliberate on applications already before the Court.

International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda

During the session, Judges are scheduled to visit the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and get briefing on the Residual Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT).

The MICT was established by UN Security Council Resolution 1966 (2010) to complete the remaining work of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia after the completion of their respective mandates.

The MICT has two branches, one in Arusha, Tanzania, and one in The Hague, Netherlands
