AG Muigai Blames Bensouda Over Kenyatta Case

Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai accused Bensouda of not providing information that would help the government trace details of President Kenyatta's wealth among other things

The AG insisted that Kenya has fully co-operated with Bensouda and asked her to stop the blame game.

"Kenya has fully co-operated with Bensouda by giving her what she has requested" Prof Muigai said

He accused the prosecutor of stalling the case because she has not provided details that would enable the government trace the information she is seeking.

The AG said that the prosecution has failed to provide, the name and registration number of the companies whose records it seeks, phone numbers used, land reference number, and copy of the title certificate to the land or property to be searched

He asked the court to drop the charges arguing that Kenya has done its part in co-operating with the court as well prosecution

"Kenya has done nothing to contribute to the stalling of the trial" Muigai added

This comes as the 23rd witness in Deputy President William Ruto and radio journalist Joshua arap Sang case was compelled to give his testimony in English after applying to do so in Kiswahili

The witness told the court that he never attended any political meeting in 2007 and refuted having told the prosecution the same
