AG Muigai Loses Appeal On Security Laws

AG Professor Githu Muigai had filed a case at the court after High Court Judge George Odunga suspended the sections in a case filed by opposition CORD in December 2014.

In Friday’s ruling, the Court of Appeal ruled that there is no vacuum in the security laws currently being implemented as claimed by the AG in his appeal application.

Justice Odunga had said some clauses in the security amendment laws touched on key issues in the bill of rights, hence decision to suspend eight clauses.
