Agony as Nairobi County Gov’t demolishes structures

Several traders in Nairobi County have suffered massive losses in the past one week as the county government moves to demolish structures along major roads.

Sources indicate that by demolishing the establishments, the county intends to pave way for development projects.

On Wednesday night, city enforcement officers demolished all structures outside city Stadium along Jogoo Road.

Most of the eateries located under the footbridge opposite the stadium were brought down by county bulldozers.

By Thursday morning, police officers were still on the ground even as the owners of the eateries tried to salvage what had been left of their businesses.

Governor Mike Sonko is yet to comment on the matter.
