Airports Authority Interdicts Six Top Officers Over Expensive Buses

This follows a directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta to the airports authority to investigate the hiring of five buses at a cost of Ksh 11 million per month.

The six were interdicted for three months as investigations into the scam goes on.

Other officers suspended include the company’s Chief Finance Officer John Thumbi, Victor Arika (Legal Counsel), Christopher Ngure Warutere (Airport Engineer), Martin Kamau (Head of Examination) and the Procurement Manager Ms Lilian Okoti.

During the official opening of the Terminal 2 on May 16, the President had ordered KAA to investigate the payment of Ksh 120 million per year by KAA for five shuttle buses.
