AK Boss Isaiah Kiplagat Announces Bid For IAAF Post

Kiplagat says: “Having been involved with athletics in Kenya for over 40 years, I have seen Kenyan athletes rise to dominate global middle and long distance running. Athletics Kenya has produced more world class athletes , more world record holders and more Olympic and worls championship medalists in the middle distance running than any other country in the world.

He adds that “Athletics at its core remains a wonderfulsport – full of excitement. I have a vision for improving athletics in Africa and the rest of the world. My focus would be to address the challenges we face and also maximize on the positives and strengths within our sport”

 This is the message the athletics supremo is carrying on his manifesto.

Meanwhile, Athletics Kenya held a one day workshop with the County Executives in Charge of Sports from all Counties wednesday 29th April 2015. The workshop was attended by Athletics Kenya County Chairmen, Regional Chairmen as well as Athletics Kenya Executive members.

The workshop created a forum to further understand athletics programs from a County, National and International perspective as well as explored areas of strategic partnerships in creating efficient and workable synergy between the County governments and Athletics Kenya through its County affiliates.
