Three Kenyans have sneaked out of the country for Somalia to join Al-Shabaab terror group, office of the Inspector General of Police has officially warned.
In a statement to newsrooms, the National Police Service has said that the suspects sneaked to Somalia where they are reportedly undergoing training, after which they “plan to sneak back into the country to stage terror attacks.”
“They are, namely, Mohammed Abdalla Asman alias Papa alias Raymond from Majengo in Nairobi, Hamisi Hemed alias Baloteli and Ali Ahmed Ali, both from Malindi,” reads the statement.
Urging the public to be on the look-out and share any information leading to the arrest of the suspects, the National Police Service has stated that the three are also in contact with other terrorists within the country with whom they are planning the attacks.
The statement further notes that prior to their escape, two of the suspects – Hamisi Hemed and Ali Ahmed Ali – worked at a Malindi hotel, Arafat, owned by one Mahfudh.
The third suspect, Mohamed Abdalla Asman, was previously nabbed by security agencies on October 4, 2013 while on his way to Somalia.
