Alcoholics acquire technical skills in Kiambu

As the crackdown on illicit liquor continues to be effected across the country, more than 50 youths from Kiambu have joined Munyu Training Institute to acquire skills in electrical works and agribusiness as an alternative way of life after quitting the bottle.

The youths, who have already been supplied with their tools of trade, were assured of job opportunities if they showed zeal and performance during their three-month training.

Kiambu Member of Parliament Jude Njomo promised to work with government agencies to rehabilitate youths who have become addicted to alcohol and ensure they become responsible citizens.

This comes weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the ban of second-generation alcohol, which initiated a countrywide crackdown on illicit brews.
