Alego traders protest kidnapping of colleague

Traders from Boro market in Alego/Usonga sub-county on Saturday, March 18 protested against the suspected kidnapping of one of their traders who has been missing for four days.

Patrick Omondi, who worked as a Kenya Commercial Bank agent at the market, is reported to have gone missing on Wednesday, March 16 night, after his motorbike was found dumped in the bush with the key intact.

The irate traders led by Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Central Alego Ward, Leonard Oriaro, stormed Siaya police station after walking for 10 kilometres demanding answers on the progress of the investigations.

Siaya Officer in Charge of Security, Simon Kombo, was at pain to brief the residents who kept blaming the police of being slow in investigating the alleged kidnapping.

Alego/Usonga Member of Parliament, George Muluan Omondi, pleaded with the traders to be patient and allow police to conclude investigations.
