Alfred Keter In Trouble

In the video taken on Saturday night, Keter is seen threatening officials while demanding the release of a truck that had been detained for lacking proper documentation.

The video has gone viral on the internet with the events of the Saturday late night confrontation that has put the Nandi Hills MP in hot soup.

Keter is seen and heard uttering threats to weeighbridge officials and police officers who allegedly detained vehicles allegedly belonging to nominated URP MP Sunjeev Birdi over their lack of proper documentation.

A section of Jubilee allied MPs led by the leader of majority Aden Duale have already distanced themselves from Keter who had made stinging attacks on the government over alleged corruption in the implementation of the Standard Gauge Railway over corrupt activities in the tendering process.

In his tweet, Duale says ‘The Government does not condone corruption, coercion or intimidation in the name of @StateHouseKenya or President @UKenyatta.’

‘The relevant institutions should take action on any misconduct involving any of our members,’ says Duale.

In the video making rounds on the internet, Keter is overheard issuing threats to the weigh bridge officials and police officers manning the place to the extent of mentioning the State House controller and the chairman of the security committee in the National Assembly and Tiaty MP Asman Kamama who he claims had sought the release of the vehicle to no avail.

It remains to be seen whether security apparatus will take decisive action against the vocal first time MP who has been critical of the government over corruption.
