All presidential candidates to be in the ballot

All eight presidential candidates from the August 8 poll have been included in the repeat election set for next Thursday, October 26.

With 90 percent of the ballot papers printed, Dubai-based Al Ghurair Printing Company is readying the papers for shipping with first batch due to land in the country on Saturday evening.

The second and third shipments are expected in Nairobi on Tuesday, October 24, just two days to the election.

Printing of ballot papers for the repeat presidential elections started end of last week despite protests by National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.

The opposition coalition however continues to push the electoral body to procure a different ballot printing company besides Al Ghurair accusing the firm of colluding with IEBC to print additional and unconventional ballot papers which they allege will be used to rig in Jubilee’s candidate.
