All schools in Kajiado ordered closed until rains subside
Kajiado County Commissioner David Kipkemei has directed that all schools within the county be closed until the heavy rains being experienced in most part of the country subside.
The directive came after a pupil died after she was swept by floods on her way to school in Kiserian.
The Kenya Meteorological Department however said that the heavy rains pounding most parts will continue.
According to the weatherman, Mt Kenya, Kisii, Kericho, Bomet, Narok, Migori, Kakamega, Kajiado, Nakuru and Kwale are expected to experience heavy rains.
