Alumni asked to help renovate schools
The Bishop David Thagana of Glory Outreach Assembly Ministries has appealed to alumni from public schools in Nyandarua to come together and help build classrooms in schools in the area.
Expressing similar sentiments, Raichiri Primary School board’s chairman, Rev Lawrence Ndung’u, said that former students would be required to help rebuild the school.
Board members of Raichiri Primary School in Ndaragwa Constituency had met at Wambuku Hotel in Naivasha to discuss the low levels of education in Nyandarua County.
The area famously known for producing the best-performing students has in the recent past seen former academic giants lag behind, an issue that leaders attribute to poor infrastructure in schools.
Bishop Thagana said that something needed to be done fast to curb the situation before matters get worse.
The board chairman thanked the government for scrapping examination fees for both public and private schools, saying the schools can now compete and achieve good results.
