As the countdown to next year’s General Election begins to pick up pace, alignments are beginning to take shape.

While dismissing speculation of a NASA break up, ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday stated that the coalition was undergoing a metamorphosis.

“There has been too much propaganda by the media that Raila is giving his colleagues in NASA condition we are talking, and we are going to be together, we will invite you your excellency to be a member,” Raila said.

But on Saturday one of the NASA coalition partners ANC Leader Musalia mudavadi insinuated that reviving the coalition was akin to flogging a dead horse.

“2017 tulikuwa tunasema nasa hao hiyo nasa naona imenzaswa…” Mudavadi said

The NASA coalition partners have in the recent past traded blame over who is responsible for the deteriorating relationship, Odinga Saturday steering clear of the debate and instead trading his guns on his fiercest nemesis Deputy President William Ruto.

While attending the burial of Dorcas Ntimama-wife of former cabinet minister William Ole Ntimama- Odinga accused the deputy president of deceit.

“There is a politician in sheepskin who should be avoided,” the ODM leader said.

Already,  Odinga appears to have edged out Deputy President William Ruto from the Jubilee party equation, the Orange party is currently crafting an alliance with the jubilee party with the intention of fielding a joint presidential candidate in 2022

“Yako ni kushtumu, yako ni kaulumu mwenzako yako ni kudanganya achana na huyu utanionabaada ya mwaka moja kwani wewe ni malaika, badala ya kuungana na wengine tufikishe hapa halafu ndio tuendelee,” President Kenyatta said on Saturday.

The next few weeks are bound to see a myriad of changes in the political scene as prospective presidential candidates reveal their line-ups.
