Another Governor ‘fires’ top county employees
West Pokot Governor, John Lonyangapuo, has sent top county officials on compulsory leave to pave way for an audit.
Addressing the press outside his office in Kapenguria, Lonyangapuo said the County Government has instituted special financial and human resource audits which will commence immediately.
Those sent on leave with immediate effect include the Acting County Secretary, all County Executive Committee Members, all Chief Officers, directors, administrators, departmental heads and sub-county revenue officers.
Governor Lonyangapuo said he has formally asked the Office of the Auditor General to carry out the audit, which will also see contractors, bursary allocations and revenue collection systems audited to seal any loopholes in the county.
