Another KCSE candidate dies after completing Biology practicals

Another KCSE candidate has died two days after a similar incident in a neighboring constituency.

The student from Memba Mixed Secondary School in Rarieda died after completing his Biology practical paper.

Fredrick Juma was pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Lwak Mission Hospital on Friday afternoon.

According to Siaya County Director of Education Joseph Wamocho, the student sat for the exam during the morning hours.

He reportedly completed the paper without any difficulty but started complaining to his colleagues that he was feeling unwell.

The County Director told Radio Ramogi that the boy collapsed and fellow students sounded the alarm.

The school administration rushed him to the nearby St. Mary’s Lwak Mission hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

It is still not yet clear what could have led to his death.

The KCSE examinations are scheduled to end on November 27.
