Another suspect arrested in connection with Sharon Otieno’s murder

One more suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Sources told Citizen Digital that the suspect was apprehended in Migori County on Sunday afternoon.

Detectives are currently interrogating the suspect at Migori Police Station.

So far, only two suspects — Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo and former Member of County Assembly (MCA) Lawrence Mula — have been arrested and arraigned in court over Sharon’s murder.

Governor Obado, who was summoned over the incident last week, has since denied having any role in the brutal murder of the Rongo University student.

“As a law abiding citizen, I want to state here very clearly that I have nothing… and absolutely nothing… to do with the cruel death of Sharon,” stated the embattled Governor during a press address last Wednesday.

Sharon went missing on September 3, 2018 after a meeting with Nation journalist Barack Oduor at a Migori hotel.

Oduor claims they were abducted from the hotel but he managed to escape by jumping out of the vehicle they had been bundled into.

Sharon’s lifeless body was found near Kodera Forest in Homa Bay two days later and an autopsy report revealed that she had been stabbed eight times.

Used condoms found at the murder scene allude to rape before the murder and the Government Pathologist also reported that the seven-month-old foetus had stab wounds inflicted during the attack on Sharon.
