Another suspect in Nairobi businessman assault case charged

One of the suspects linked to the assault of former Nairobi Central Business District Association (NCBDA) chairman Timothy Muriuki was arraigned in court on Thursday on robbery with violence charges.

Hussein Suleiman, who surrendered to police on Monday days after police placed a Ksh.500,000 bounty on his head, denied the charges and was released on a Ksh. 200,000 cash bail.

Suleiman becomes the 8th accused person to be charged in connection to the assault that happened at Boulevard Hotel in Nairobi two weeks ago.

Appearing before before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Tuesday, the other three co-accused; Dishon Peter Mulinge, Ronald Onyango Otieno and Micheal Wathigo were charged with injuring and robbing Mr. Muriuki Ksh.100,000 at a the same hotel.

Others charged in the case include EALA Legislator Simon Mbugua.

The matter will be mentioned next week where the prosecution will consolidate the cases for them to be heard as one.
