Apologize for stripping naked, MCA told

Religious leaders from Siaya County have condemned the incident where a Member of the County Assembly stripped naked to protest against a parody-twitter handle in the name of Deputy President Wiliam Ruto that made disparaging remarks against the people of Kibera.

Led by Rev. Kenneth Wachianga of the ACK Maseno, the leaders said thatt such heinous acts should not be condoned whatsoever.

Speaking on phone, Wachianga says that leaders must watch on their integrity by ensuring they respect themselves together with the offices they hold.

The priest, who strongly castigated the MCA’s mischievous character, stated that it is against customs and traditional practices to strip naked in public.

He cautioned leaders especially politicians against taking advantage of CORD leader Raila Odinga’s name whenever they want to misbehave in public.

The Reverend lamented that many times people especially from Luo-Nyanza do pathetic things under the guise of defending Mr Odinga adding that it is high time such embarrassing behaviors were stopped forthwith.

The leaders now want the MCA to apologize to the people of Central Gem who elected him due to the embarrassment that he has placed them through.

The church leaders have also asked the Speaker of Siaya County Assembly to take stern action against the MCA so that his integrity can also be tested by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC).

Central Gem MCA Fred Ouda held a naked protest while expressing his anger before journalists at the County Assembly on Wednesday.
