Apologize to Odinga, CORD to Ruto

Two CORD MPs have dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s remarks that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka contributed to his loss in the last presidential elections.

Alego/Usonga MP George Muluan and his Gem counterpart Jakoyo Midiwo have strongly condemned the remarks and further urged the DP to engage on matters of development instead of playing politics under the guise of spearheading development initiatives in the region of Luo-Nyanza.

Mr. Muluan, who was elected on Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party ticket, defended his party leader arguing that Mr. Odinga’s loss in the 2013 presidential elections was as a result of Ruto’s propaganda against the former Prime Minister over the ICC and Mau eviction issues.

The MPs were reacting to remarks made by DP Ruto on Sunday during a church function in Bondo town.

The MPs now want the DP to apologize for his sentiments saying that this was a direct insult to the Wiper party and its followers.

On his part, Jakoyo who stated that the leadership of Jubilee leadership including President Kenyatta and his Deputy were welcome to Luo Nyanza any time but only if they concentrate on development agenda and not politics.

Elsewhere in Bondo constituency, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and nominated MP Dr. Oburu Oginga lashed out at the Deputy President over the fundraising that he presided over arguing that the region cannot be built through Harambees.
