Appeal Court Stops Trial Of Military Officers

Two Appellate judges Hannah Okwengu and Fatuma Sichale asked the Martial court to stop the case until the one filed at the Mombasa High Court is heard and determined.

The soldiers are being accused of desertion.

The accused military officers want the case against them dropped on the grounds that their rights are being violated.

The trial took approximately one hour.

The two judges said the accused officers should be released on a cash bail of Ksh 500,000 each as ordered by a Mombasa court.

The Mombasa court stopped the trial of the officers for 60 days to hear whether the rights of the accused persons had been violated.
