Archbishop Desmond Tutu hospitalized

South Africa’s Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has spent a second night in hospital after being admitted for treatment over an infection.

The family, however, did not disclose the details of the infection after the 83 year old Nobel laureate was admitted on Tuesday at a hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.

His daughter Mpho Tutu offered gratitude to all who had sent love and prayers since his admission to the hospital in Cape Town.

Mpho added that they hope that the Archbishop will be discharged later this week.

Tutu is a worldwide revered anti-apartheid hero who championed against oppression, quest for freedom and social rights for all which earned him a Nobel Peace Prize in 1984.

He retired from public life in 2011 after battling prostate cancer over the years.
