Armed gangsters shot dead in Karatina

Two gangsters were on Wednesday shot dead on the Nyeri-Karatina road after their attempt to rob a macadamia trader was thwarted.

The two were gunned down after they grabbed his motorbike but the trader raised alarm after the duo started attacking him.

According to the Mathira West County Commissioner and the area OCPD , the gang has been terrorising residents of Nyeri and Kirinyaga and were part of a gang that managed to escape in a saloon car from the scene.

Police have recovered an AK47 rifle and several rounds of ammunition from the suspects.
